- Am I missing something? I've been periodically using the Excel 2016 for Mac updates but quickly abandoned them because my sheets rely so heavily on VBA and support for that seemed to be missing.
- Find the Terminal program, you'll be using this to do most of this stuff. Its in the Applications/Utilities folder. There's finally a good/fast way of installing all these tools under Mac OS X PPC or i386! First, download the OSX-AVR packge for PPC (older macs) or i386. Leah Buchley has an excellent tutorial, and you should follow it.
When you write a Visual Basic program, you first have to design the user interface. Essentially, a Visual Basic user interface consists of objects that you place on the screen and arrange in some semblance of organization so that the screen looks pretty.
The common elements of a Visual Basic user interface appear in Figure 1 and consist of the following:
- Forms (also known as windows)
Platypus is a Mac OS X developer tool that creates native Mac OS X applications from interpreted scripts such as shell scripts or Perl, Ruby and Python programs. This is done by wrapping the script in an application bundle along with a native executable binary that runs the script.
- Buttons (such as command buttons and radio buttons)
- Boxes (such as text boxes and check boxes)
- Labels
- Pictures (such as icons and graphics)
